A Private Atelier Creation in Her Honor
Some people leave a city more beautiful than they found it. Myra Janco Daniels was one of those people.
Myra Janco Daniels was a force of nature — advertising pioneer, cultural visionary, and the woman who gave Naples, Florida its world-class arts identity. As the founding CEO of the Philharmonic Center for the Arts, now Artis—Naples, she transformed a sun-drenched Gulf Coast city into a destination for opera, symphony, and the visual arts. She was a trailblazer in every room she entered — and she always entered beautifully.
It was our great privilege at TURK & TURK to know Myra not only as a supporter of the arts, but as a presence, a patron, and a friend.
A Private Atelier Creation, Made with Love
For Myra’s 95th birthday, her beloved friends Paula and Roger Weatherburn Baker chose to give her something no boutique could offer — a piece conceived exclusively for her, by hand, with devotion.
They brought their vision to The House of TURK & TURK: a bespoke silk kimono jacket — the artwork first hand-painted by Ilkay Turk, then printed on the finest silk in Lake Como, Italy, and finished by hand as a singular work of wearable art — created in Myra’s honor and for her alone.
The piece was presented alongside a hand-painted greeting card by Ilkay Turk and a TURK & TURK Certificate of Authenticity — confirming what Naples already knew: that this was a one-of-a-kind creation, for a truly one-of-a-kind woman.
An Evening at Opera Naples
Myra was a luminous presence at the finest cultural, philanthropic gatherings in Southwest Florida. It was at an Opera Naples Gala that Ilkay had the joy of spending an evening with her — two women who share a deep love of beauty, art, philanthropy, and this remarkable city.
The Certificate & The Card
Every TURK & TURK limited edition atelier creation is issued with a Certificate of Authenticity — hand-signed by Ilkay Turk and personalized for its owner. Myra’s certificate bears her name in full, alongside Ilkay’s signature, verifying that her kimono jacket was one of only one produced worldwide. Accompanying it, a hand-painted greeting card — a personal touch from Ilkay’s own hand, as intimate as the creation itself.
In Her Honor
Myra Janco Daniels left behind a Naples that is richer, more cultured, and more luminous because of her extraordinary life. We are deeply honored that a TURK & TURK piece was woven into her story — and we dedicate this tribute to her memory, and to Paula and Roger Weatherburn Baker, whose love for their dear friend made this creation possible.
Rest in beauty, Myra.
